St Mary’s church is well worth a visit

St Mary's Church
St Mary's Church today
The building was started around 1340 (replacing a chapel of ease). Building the church took over a hundred years to complete, with delays caused by the Black Death. When the building was started, the building was in the Decorated style, but later changed to the Perpendicular style.

Between 1855 and 1861 Sir George Gilbert Scott supervised a substantial restoration.
